We are Denver NORML.
We advocate for the rights of marijuana consumers in the Mile High City.
Our current issues include:
- Social Use - The Responsible Use Denver Initiative
- Pesticide-free marijuana
- Providing education for cannabis consumers
Denver NORML was founded in 2015. Since the start of legalization in Colorado it has been a very exciting time for us to be alive, but it does not mean we have perfected all the laws and regulations that are part of legalization. We are committed to addressing these issues for the cannabis community in the great city of Denver.
Currently we are focused on the need for social use. Denver marijuana is legal for purchase but with limited options for consumption. We have diligently prepared language for a new bill. It is called The Responsible Use Denver Initiative. We continue the search for increased access to affordable marijuana by fighting for lower taxes. There are the issues of mold, contaminants, microbes, and pesticides in a largely unregulated industry. There is still work to be done in the realm of consumer safety but we are extremely satisfied with the position the city has taken so far on pesticides. We must keep the marijuana dialogue open, evolving, and always moving in a positive direction.
We have monthly meetings and create a space for like-minded individuals to discuss the city's current issues. There are many ways to get involved! Come join us!
